About us

Waiting to Belong started as a movement to help the more than 30,000 kids in Canada who are waiting to be adopted. Many of these children come from hard places but are desperate to be loved. We want to help find families for these kids because we believe that every child is a precious gift from God.

Throughout Scripture, God clearly calls us to care for vulnerable children and to welcome them in His name. A child whose physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs are met will make amazing progress, even in the face of the most daunting challenges. Adoption redeems brokenness. Adoption gives a child the chance to belong.

Waiting to Belong was created for the children in Canada who are longing for a forever family. Our goal is to bring awareness to their situation and to challenge the Christian community to reach out in love, whether through adoption, adoption support or church ministry. We believe that, together, we can greatly reduce the number of waiting children in Canada.
